Ranubis is a red demon. Modern red demons often base their looks off of popular human beliefs or superstitions to increase their fear factor. Ranubis wears a helmet and anklets based off of the Egyptian god Anubis.

Red dogs are predominately red in color with black legs caused by running in the ashes of hell. Their tails are extraordinarily long and tipped with metal razors. Each demon has a unique tip. The tails are used like whips to torture the damned souls in hell.

The nails and tongues of red demons, along with certain other demons, are hooked to increase the amount of damage they cause. The teeth are not hooked to prevent them from getting caught and lost in victims because unlike nails, they don't grow back. The teeth and nails also usually become stained with blood over time.

Red demons are given their name over the common connection between the color red and lust and passion. Red demons use people's desires to trick and trap them, damning them then enjoying their slaughter. They have the ability many demons have of changing their form, usually into normal animals or even into humans.

Ranubis is a particularly bitter red demon because of a personal incident in his past. He once, against the advice of his peers, attempted to woo and trick an angel only to fall for that angel and have his heart stolen when the angel learned of his demonic nature and attempted to destroy him. He lives his life vengefully enchanting and destroying humans and eating their hearts, secretly looking for the angel he loved to absolve him.

Ranubis really hates his job.
